Very Short Stories: "Beneath"

A black and white looping video of a woman in a dress, on the edge of a cliff. She falls forward.
The girl who could fly...

The waves crashed violently against the rocks beneath her. A breeze caught her dress and it danced playfully around her. She thought about dancing with him... But he danced with her now.

She took a deep breath.

She may not dance anymore, but she can certainly fly.

#vss365, or "Very Short Stories" began life on Twitter as an opportunity for writers to share a short story within the Twitter character limit based on a daily word prompt. The challenge is that the prompt must be included in the story itself! Anyone is welcome to join in - just search on Twitter for the hashtag, click on "latest" and you'll see the day's tweets featuring the daily prompt.
